Positions Open to All UBC Students:
We are excited to announce openings for diverse roles, welcoming applications from undergraduate, master’s, and PHD students across UBC:
1. LOGISTICS TEAM (3 Positions)
Logistics Coordinators (2 Positions)
- Planning and executing the academic seminars and the organization of the technical, procedural, and catering of events at the event’s venues
- Organize venue for the seminars and competitions.
- Handles all logistical details of each pre-conference event and the actual conference itself
- Keep up to date with Executive Vice President on logistics preparation and procurement, especially financial claims.
Finance Coordinators (1 Position)
- Process and reconcile purchases, requisitions, invoices, and reimbursements.
- Act as the main liaison between the IFSA-UBC and the Faculty of Forestry
- Must train their replacements at the end of their term and provide them with any relevant files, reports, introductions, and paperwork needed to do their roles effectively.
- Assist other teams with sponsorship and related matters
- Report the organization’s financial status to the Executive Vice President on time.
2. EXTERNAL AFFAIRS TEAM (4 Positions)
External Relations Coordinators (2 Positions)
- Manage external outreach, connecting with industry, alumni, NGOs, and environmental organizations for sponsorships and partnerships.
- Organize external events, seminars, and competitions, coordinating speakers and participants.
- Seek funding through sponsorships and partnerships to support IFSA-UBC initiatives.
- Build long-term relationships to enhance IFSA-UBC’s visibility and collaboration efforts.
- Collaborate with the Technology Manager to leverage online platforms and secure partnerships.
Campus Integration Coordinators (2 Positions)
- Serve as liaison between IFSA-UBC and UBC’s Faculty of Forestry, other departments, clubs, and organizations.
- Build collaborative relationships within UBC, integrating IFSA-UBC with other campus groups.
- Coordinate internal seminars, workshops, and interdisciplinary events to promote IFSA-UBC’s mission.
- Plan prize packages for academic seminars and competitions in coordination with the President.
3. INTERNAL AFFAIRS TEAM (2 Positions)
Internal Affairs Coordinators (2 Positions)
- Strengthens connections between forestry students and professionals at UBC’s Faculty of Forestry.
- Engages actively with forestry professors to enhance academic collaborations and create a supportive educational environment.
- Initiates and maintains dialogues with faculty members, organizes events, and collaborates on workshops.
- Acts as a bridge to improve communication and foster cooperation between students and faculty for educational and professional growth.
- Requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with a proactive approach to relationship-building and student engagement.
4. MEDIA TEAM (4 Positions)
Multimedia Creators (2 Positions)
- Create video content, including reels and event recaps, to be shared across IFSA’s media channels.
- Capture photos during events, meetings, or activities for social media, newsletters, or publications.
- Collaborate with the media team and other divisions to produce creative, engaging content.
- Edit and finalize multimedia content for various platforms, ensuring high-quality production.
Social Media and Website Administrator (1 Position)
- Manage social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook), schedule posts and maintain online communication.
- Engage with audiences by responding to comments and messages, fostering interaction and community growth.
- Oversee and update IFSA’s website, posting announcements, events, and news regularly.
- Collaborate with multimedia creators and graphic designers to ensure cohesive online branding and timely updates.
Graphic Designer (1 Position)
- Design posters, infographics, and promotional materials for social media and the website.
- Work closely with the media team to develop visually appealing content for various campaigns and events.
- Must be proficient in graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign) to create high-quality visuals.
- Ensure all designs align with IFSA’s branding and communication goals.
